I don't think anyone reads this anymore, which is probably why I decided to write something.
I think this will be a good year.
I have been perfecting what I feel is the best I-tunes collection in the history of the universe. But it's pretty safe to say that is because it is my own.
I really love it, but what I don't love is having to explain to everyone why I don't own an I-pod. That gets annoying.
I'm doing that thing where I'm trying to be casual and funny at the same time. It's not working.
If you haven't seen my bedroom yet this year you should come check it out. That sounds creepy, but what I really mean is that I really like it and I want other people to like me for having this be my room because that is how I can secure some lasting friendships.
One problem is how I sometimes keep my lamp in the closet. That was my mom's idea but I can't remember why.
If you guys haven't listened to "A love that will never grow old" by emmylou harris, you definitely should. I love this song.
For a long time I had trouble remembering how to spell "definitely" until I realized that the word 'finite' is in the middle. Stuff like that can really help shit out man.

I NEED TO ASK A FAVOR OF YOU:
For Christmas this year, I really want to get everyone in my family a couple of cds that correspond somewhat to the type of music they listen to but introduce them to something different. it's pretty miuch impossible tot hink of gifts for them adn well, i like to buy cds.
okay, so here's how this little game is going to work. i'm going to tell YOU GUYS what type of music they would be inclined to listen to (i.e., what radio station they turn on in the car) and then you tell me what you think they might enjoy. TRY TO KEEP IN MIND: they are probably not going to be very open to anything crazy.
DAD: listens to dad music. ac/dc, aerosmith, bon jovi, bruce springsteen, queen, bowie, the police, you might be thinking okay, not THAT bad but see he doens't actually REALLY LIKE this music he just listened to it when he was younger and in college and feeling like a bad ass. but he doen'st understand being passionate about msuci IN THE LEAST. oh yeah he likes rem a lot. but like he'll buy a cd and NEVER LISTEN TO IT so this is a challenge. pretty much hates everything i listen to unless they are listed here. sure i'm leaving some out but you get the point. OH and if this helps, he FOR OSME REASON really likes/thinks it's funny to pretend to like really terrible girl pop songs. and i'm not talking britney/xtina i'm talking PINK "get this party started" (that was his favorite for quite some time) and SPICE GIRLS (whatever that damn song was called). yeah i know, how do you explain it? oh yeah he HATES country music except jimmy b uffet and mary chapin carpenter. how you classify those people i have no idea. he's very affected by cockrock bands and that image they portray. he likes to feel manly??
MOM: christian/country music. things that are quiet and pretty. that don't give her a headache. that she can listen to quietly and doens' thave to devote her complete attention to. god she LOVES christmas music and having music on very quietly while she bustles around the house. she also likes bruce springsteen (and she prefers the mainstream bruce to more experimental stuff. she LOVES the rising), the beatles, the beach boys. you know, stuff that "brings her back to college and when she was dating my dad". she's very nostalgic. even though this is a very sad listen of music she's pretty open-minded and not judgmental so she might be pretty easy. oh yeah she loves mary chapin carptenter too. i think they maybe shared some special night with that one if you know what i mena. it's jsut too weird how they are obsessed with ehr.
ERIN (older sis): SHITTY SHITTY SHITTY MUSIC. the worst taste in music. christian/country CRAP and stupid 95.5 the beat fake-rap/pop/r and b stuff. gross. she's one of those "I like EVERYTHING people". which really just means they just don't really care about music that much. she likes music if she can dance to it. never just for music. she once tried to explain to me why creed is a good band. "becuase there are people that like them". who knows, maybe she will be one of the easiest because she will probably pretend to like anything if she can use it later to "bond" with me or "reach out". church tells her our relationship isn't right, so she's been trying to fix it. that's been really fun.
MEGHAN (little sis): okay this is the most important to me beacuse she is at the prime age for making impressions and well i jsut want to make the right ones. i never had ANYONE introduce me to any kind of music i care about now until midway through highschool. i mean i never even knew it EXISTED. she REALLY likes rap and she usually likes GOOD rap. like she asked me to buy her the kanye west cd which i GLADLY did and she loves jigga man. so that's good. but honestly i have NO CLUE as to her other taste. i mean, she's 14 if that says anything. i'm sure she just turns on 95.5 or trl or something every so often. and i think she might not hate country music. but she's REALLY COOL and i think we can really do some good here guys. i mean, she recognizes an annoying song when she hears one. so this is the one i would think about the most. i mean, if you want to that is.
okay ONE LAST THING: EVERYONE in my family looooved jump, little children when i used to listen to them. now i don't know if this was just some sad attempt to connect with me or something at the time but i mean they ALL went to i think 2 of their concerts even. and one was out of state. and we had to dress up.
so even though that is slightly embarrassing i thought it might help.

Now i know i don't talk about it much, but one thing you guys might not know about me is that I am quite the art connoiseur.
okay i guess you could say I don't actually know anything about art, but i mean, i DID take art appreciation 2000. (don't let that big number fool you, it's pretty much the lowest level art class you can take, and probably also the easiest.) but i got an A.
well, i like some really good shit. you could like show me something and i'll pretty much be able to tell you "yes i like it" or "no i don't" and i'm always right. you could say it depends on who you ask but if you ask basically anyone they will agree with me.
anyways, there is actually a point to all this.
there is this new artist i've recently gotten into. maybe it's more than that, i mean i've completely immersed myself in his work like super Keats style. like, lost in the moment for sure. it's that intense. and i say recently not because there ever was a time when i just didn't "get it", but because i only recently was introduced to the genius. this guy has talent like oozing from him at all times. and he's still so young.
also, you shouldn't get discouraged when you find out his work originates from MS Paint, because that is merely the blank template onto which his creative juices flow forth.
so i guess what i mean to say is you guys should totally check him out as soon as you can because any moment now some rich dude is going to stumble upon one of his works and he's going to recognize his insane ability and then capture him and force him to mass produce these babies, and well, we indie kids understand the importance of appreciating art before it gets too mainstream, right guys?
